For the coming week of November 25, 2002, the following construction activities will take place:

  1. Continuing excavation and soil nailing (construction will occur Monday to Wednesday; some work may occur on Friday as well)
  2. Operatories within mock-up in B842 will be spaced according to construction plans

Two issues have recently been brought to the attention of the construction manager and the UMDNJ Facilties, Planning and Construction group. The first is the lighting within the plaza area. Recently, construction lighting was added to the construction site. I have asked the construction team to make sure that adequate lighting is present for those walking to and from the parking areas and the dental school. The second issue is the water that has gathered in the walk area adjacent to the construction fence. It appears that the water is due to run off from the ground next to the pathway. This area has been damaged by trucks and other heavy equipment moving from the path to the library construction area. The library construction is being handled by a different construction company, therefore our construction manager can not address the issue and correct it. FP&C has been informed and as of today, the water situation will be corrected no later than the end of the day Monday.
