GIVE KIDS A SMILES DAY 2006 A BIG HIT

A surprise visit from several hundred additional school children increased the total number of children served at NJDS to more than 850. Additional clinic space was opened up to accommodate the overload. Cavan M. Brunsden, DMD '79, statewide chair of Give Kids a Smile® was on campus to see how things were going in the 12th Avenue Pavilion, and a reporter flew in from Chicago to cover the event for the ADA News. The many volunteers including students, alumni, faculty and staff, enjoyed a special lunch in the middle of a very busy day. Richard Mahevich, DMD, Professor of Clinical Affairs and Michael Conte, DMD, MPH, Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs were co-coordinators of the event. The Clinical Affairs team also included (l. to r.) Carol Chrystal, Luis Hernandez, Eneida Martinez, Maria Logatto and Milca Maldonado.
