September 11 Observances On September 11, 2001 we watched the unimaginable unfold before our eyes. As a way of remembering the heroism and courage of all those touched by the tragedy, the University will observe a moment of silence at 9:11 a.m. on September 11, 2002. At that time, we ask that you remember the individuals who died that day and the families who were shattered by those tragic events. Blood drives have been scheduled on the Newark, New Brunswick and Stratford campuses. University Behavioral HealthCare is offering free counseling to members of the University family, as well as members of the community, who may need assistance dealing with their memories of 9/11. Special activities to mark the anniversary of this catastrophic event have been planned on each campus. The faculty, students and staff on the Newark, Camden, New Brunswick and Piscataway campuses will host brief ceremonies with music, readings and a moment of reflection. On the Stratford campus, the University Wellness Center will begin a month-long t-shirt sale to raise funds for new communications equipment for the Stratford Fire Department. Please check the University's web site at http://www.umdnj.edu/homeweb/university/inmemory.html for specific details. Stuart
