INFORMATION
Salaries:

Salaries
should be increased by 4% in each successive grant year.
Fringe
benefits:
Fringe benefits for all full time employees or more than half-time
employees should be calculated as 29.15% of the requested salary.
Fringe
benefits for post-doctoral fellows should be calculated as $1900
(for insurance) plus 8% of the requested salary.
Annual
increases on non-salary items:
All non-salary recurring budget expenses (e.g., supplies) should
be increased by 5% annually. Indirect (Facilities and Administrative)
Costs: The following federally negotiated facilities and administration
costs are applicable to all federally sponsored research grants
as well as to non-competing renewals associated with the original
award:

Overhead
costs on industry grants are negotiated individually, but should
not be less than 25%.
Overhead
costs are calculated on the basis of total direct costs excluding
equipment.
Institutional
Review Board (IRB) Fees:
For industry-sponsored studies only, the IRB charges $1,500
for initial review and $900 for continuing reviews. No fees are
imposed on government-funded studies.
